69EXPRESS ROAD CLOSURE UPDATE

119th Street Interchange at U.S. 69 Long Term Closures Beginning Summer 2024

As part of the 69Express project improvements, long-term closures are planned for 119th Street and ramps at U.S. 69. Ramps at the interchange will begin closing in June. By August, all ramps and 119th Street will be fully closed until October. Please see the image below for more details.

The closure of 119th Street at U.S. 69 will accelerate the reconstruction of 119th Street, interchange ramps and U.S. 69 bridges over 119th Street. The closure of 119th Street will be from Grant Street on the west to Farley/Three Lakes Parkway on the east.

Detours will be marked, and digital signs will notify drivers prior to the closure. Please visit 69Express.org for additional information closer to the closure date. Dates are subject to change.

119th Street to Northbound U.S. 69 closing June 26, 2024, for approximately 120 days

Southbound U.S. 69 to 119th Street closing June 26, 2024, for approximately 120 days

119th Street closing August 2024 for approximately 60 days

Northbound U.S. 69 to 119th Street closing July 29, 2024, for approximately 90 days

119th Street to Southbound U.S. 69 closing August 2024 for approximately 60 days

Detours to Highland Plaza

The map below shows detour routes and access to the Highland Plaza shopping center during the 119th Street closure.

Driving South on U.S. 69

Exit at College Boulevard and follow the detour. The detour will take you right onto College Boulevard to Quivira Road, then turn left onto Quivira Road. Take Quivira Road to 119th Street and turn left on 119th Street to drive to Highland Plaza. Turn left into the parking lot.

Driving West on I‑435

Exit to southbound U.S. 69, then take the exit to College Boulevard and follow the detour. The detour will take you right onto College Boulevard to Quivira Road, then turn left onto Quivira Road. Take Quivira Road to 119th Street and turn left on 119th Street to drive to Highland Plaza. Turn left into the parking lot.

Driving East on I‑435

Exit to Quivira Road. Turn right onto Quivira Road to 119th Street and turn left on 119th Street to drive to Highland Plaza. Turn left into the parking lot.

Driving West on 119th Street

Turn right from 119th Street onto Antioch Road. Take Antioch Road to College Boulevard. Turn left onto College Boulevard and drive to Quivira Road. Turn left from College Boulevard to Quivira Road. Take Quivira Road to 119th Street and turn left on 119th Street to drive to Highland Plaza. Turn left into the parking lot.

Driving East on 119th Street

No detours. Drive straight along 119th Street to Highland Plaza and turn left into the parking lot.

Driving North on U.S. 69

Exit at College Boulevard and follow detour. The detour will take you left onto College Boulevard to Quivira Road, then turn left onto Quivira Road. Take Quiviria Road to 119th Street and turn left on 119th Street to drive to Highland Plaza. Turn left into the parking lot.

Driving South on U.S. 69

Exit at College Boulevard and follow the detour. The detour will take you right onto College Boulevard to Quivira Road, then turn left onto Quivira Road. Take Quivira Road to 119th Street and turn left on 119th Street to drive to Highland Plaza. Turn left into the parking lot.

Driving West on I‑435

Exit to southbound U.S. 69, then take the exit to College Boulevard and follow the detour. The detour will take you right onto College Boulevard to Quivira Road, then turn left onto Quivira Road. Take Quivira Road to 119th Street and turn left on 119th Street to drive to Highland Plaza. Turn left into the parking lot.

Driving East on I‑435

Exit to Quivira Road. Turn right onto Quivira Road to 119th Street and turn left on 119th Street to drive to Highland Plaza. Turn left into the parking lot.

Driving West on 119th Street
